The arms show the wheel of the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]], as the village belonged to theState of Mainz until 1803. The upper corner shows a wavy bend for the Sailauf and Steinbach rivers. The oak leaf in the lower half symbolises the forests of the Spessart region, in which the village is situated.
