Origin/meaning

The White Rose symbolises Yorkshire. The Lion holding a banner is the Crest of the Duke of Wellington and was the Badge of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding), one of the Regiments that in 2006 formed the Yorkshire Regiment.
