Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: Within a red arched scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border and inscribed “ARVIN HIGH SCHOOL” in white letters, a red demi-bear affronté eyed and dented white, detailed black. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height consisting of a silver triangle arched at base bearing a red bear statant between three red stars, all within a red triangular border above a red scroll inscribed “ARVIN BEARS” in silver letters; attached above, a red and silver wreath of laurel

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red and White are the School Colors. The Bear is the School Mascot. The Bear within the Arch represents the Cadets in a learning environment and supporting School and Community.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: Red and white (silver) are the School Colors. The Bear, adapted from the California State Flag, is the School Mascot, and reflects the School’s Location. The Stars within a Triangle symbolize Scholarship, Leadership and Citizenship, and reflect the Cadets’ dedication to School, Community and Country.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and Shoulder Loop Insignia was approved on 22 February 1996.
