BÜTTIKON
Canton: Aargau
Official blazon
Von Rot und Weiss fünfmal schräg geteilt, die weissen Plätze belegt mit sechs (2,3,1) blauen Eisenhüten.
Origin/meaning
The were adopted on January 6, 1957 and are derived from the medieval Lords of Büttikon.
Until 1957 the village used a kettle in its arms. These are the arms of the Kock ('cook') family, taken from a stone cross in the village which was donated in 1622 by the family. Later the arms were seen as the village arms instead of personal arms. In 1957 the arms of the oldest known lords of Büttikon were chosen.
