Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The warlike past of the seven main local tribes is expressed by the seven red assegais (color of blood), but placed on a white background (color of peace) and linked by a blue ribbon (one of the national colours).

The chief symbolises by its color and by the anchor the founding of Booué by the Portuguese explorer Savorgnan de Brazza. The shells, symbols of the traveler, represent the tourist prospects of the district.
