German	Geteilt von Gold und Rot; oben vier rote Pfähle, im blauen Obereck ein sechsstrahliger silberner Stern; unten aus dem Schildrand hervorbrechend ein linksschräger goldener Bischofsstab gekreuzt mit einem silbernen Flammenschwert.
English	Per fess or and gules; four pales gules a canton azure charged with six rays argent and saltirewise a croziers issuant or and a flaming sword argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 29, 1962.

The upper half depicts the coat of arms of the Lords of Merode-Vlatten from 1320. The bishop's crosier refers to the parish patron, St. Dionysius, the sword to the second parish patron, St. Michael, to whom the chapel in Obervlatten is dedicated.
