Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
TRAAR
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Incorporated into : 1930 Krefeld
Origin/meaning
The municipality of Traar never had official arms. Only recently, as a district of Krefeld, Traar adopted arms. The mill is the Egelsbergmühle in Traar. The two small shields show the cross of the State of Köln, to which the area historically belonged, and the cross of the Teutonic Order, who founded the Traar castle.
