MARNERDEICH
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Dithmarschen
Amt : Amt Marne-Nordsee (until 2008 Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde Marne-Land)
German | Gespalten durch einen grünen Pfahl. Vorn in Silber sechs blaue Wellenbalken; hinten von Gold, bestreut mit roten Dreiecken.
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on August 8, 1973. Marnerdeich is the name of the dike protecting the city of Marne from the sea. The dike was made in the 17th century and the village Marnerdiek was first mentioned in 1664. The pale in the arms symbolises the dike, the waves the sea and the red triangles the houses of the village, standing in the golden fields.
