Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 19, 1938.
The arms are based on seal of the court in Nordheim from 1580. The blue and golden bars are derived from the arms of the Lords of Seinsheim, who ruled the town for many centuries, and who granted the town rights in 1730. The left half shows an image of the Northern wind, and thus was used as a canting symbol for North (Nord).
