Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 20, 1995.
The bull's head is taken from the arms of the Princes of Werle, who had a large influence in the county and its cities. The eagle represents the rich nature. The gate represents the four cities in the district (Waren, Malchow, Röbel, Penzlin), whereas the large number of lakes and brooks in the area is represented by the waves.
