In Silber eine gequaderte und bezinnte rote Burg mit drei Toren (das mittlere geöffnet mit goldenen Torflügeln und hochgezogenem goldenen Fallgitter vor schwarzem Hintergrund, die seitlichen vermauert) und drei Türmen (die seitlichen mit spitzem, blauem, goldbeknauftem Dach und einem schwarzen Fenster, der mittlere stärkere und höhere mit drei schwarzen Fenstern und einer herauswachsenden dreiblättrigen goldenen Krone). Die Türme sind mit je einem schrägrechtsgelehnten Schild belegt: Vorn neunmal schwarz-golden geteilt und mit grünem Rautenkranz belegt, in der Mitte in Rot ein doppelschwänziger, bezungter, goldbekrönter silberner Löwe, hinten in Silber ein rotbewehrter, goldbekrönter schwarzer Adler. |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1992.
The arms are based on the medieval seals of the city (known since the late 13th century), which already showed a walled city with a crown. The crown probably indicates that the city was a city in the Kingdom of Bohemia and appeared for the first time in a seal from 1643. The three small shields indicate the former rulers of the city; Sachsen, Bohemia and Prussia. This combination with the three shields was first used in the middle of the 19th century.
