Official blazon
German In Gold auf gewölbtem grünem Grund ein springender goldbewehrter roter Hirsch.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 19, 1951.

The arms are based on the old seal of Herschweiler, known from 1733. The deer probably is canting for the old name Hirschweiler (deer-field). The colours were chosen arbitrarily.

Literature: Debus, 1988
