Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1983.

The three hammers in the arms are derived from the arms of the Lords zu Kolve, the oldest known rulers of the village. They used hammers in their arms, as they descended from the Lords of Hammerstein (who lived on Hammerstein castle near Neuwied).

I have no information on the meaning of the upper part.
