====Origin/meaning====
The divided shield can have to possible origins. The shield is the coat of arms of the [[Diocese of Lausanne]], to which the village historically belonged. The shield also can be derived from the arms of the Payerne Abbey, to which the Priory in Pully belonged. Based on resemblence with other arms in the region that were part of the Diocese/State of Lausanne the first origin is the most likely.
