Official blazon
In goud een stappende beer van sabel – het schild getopt met een baronnenmuts.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on October 14, 1938.
The bear on the arms was already used on the seal of the local council from 1780 and 1790. The bear is a canting symbol for the De Beer family, Lords of Meulenbeke from 1655-1793.
