ERBACH
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Alb-Donau Kreis (until 1972 Ulm)
Additions : 1972 Ringingen; 1974 Bach, Dellmensingen, Donaurieden, Ersingen
German | In von Gold und Rot geteiltem Schild ein Löwe in verwechselten Farben. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The origin of the lion is unknown. The village of Erbach was owned by a large number of families. The seal of the village from the 16th century already showed a lion, but no signs of its colour. As the origin was unknown, the lion has been depicted in a large number of variations and colours. The present arms were granted in 1954 and the colours were chosen arbitrarily.
