Activated on 1 Oct 2019. Built and operated a VHF fighter control system that would facilitate fighter interception in defense of the Hawaiian Islands, 1942-1943. History: Constituted as 318 Interceptor Control Squadron on 2 Feb 1942. Redesignated 318 Fighter Control Squadron on 15 May 1942. Activated on 15 Oct 1942. Redesignated: 614 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron on 1 Aug 1946; 614 Radar Squadron (SAGE) on 1 Mar 1963. Inactivated on 1 Aug 1963. Redesignated 318 Range Squadron on 26 Aug 2019. Activated on 1 Oct 2019. Built and operated a VHF fighter control system that would facilitate fighter interception in defense of the Hawaiian Islands, 1942-1943.
