Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a square quarterly of red and yellow between a maroon cross-crosslet on a silver field all enclosed by a curved triparted maroon scroll bearing in silver letters the words "QUALITY THRU DEDICATION" at left, right and bottom respectively.

Maroon and silver are the colors traditionally associated with the Medical Corps. The triangular shape alludes to the three areas of service provided by the unit, i.e., clinical, community and military. The maroon cross is a historical symbol for medical units and the cross-crosslet suggests mobile military readiness by alluding to the deployment of medical units in any direction. The red and yellow squares refer to the coat of arms of the city of Wuerzburg, the home area of the unit, and is incorporated with the cross indicating the dental services provided by the unit to the Wuerzburg area.


The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 8 April 1985.
