Official blazon

Hopeakentässä punaisella kolmoisvuorella seisova musta, punakielinen majava, olallaan punavartinen, musta kirves.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 5, 1955.

The arms are canting for the Majoovaara mountain in the municipality, majava means beaver, vaara is a mountain covered with forests. The beaver holds an ax as a symbol for the importance of forestry.
