Origin/meaning

The arms show the Apuane Alps (coloured in white because of the marble quarries of Carrara ) and the rising moon and the star, symbol of the ancient roman town of Lunae (or Luni) which ruled thepart of coast now shared between the provinces of La Spezia (Liguria) and Massa e Carrara (Tuscany).
