Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 13, 1953.

The red and gold are the colours of the Lords von Grafschaft, to whom the Wildenberg Estate in the municipality historically belonged. The wolf-hook is taken from the arms of the Seibertz family from the village. The plowshare refers to the fact that in 1648 the end of the 30-years ware was announced by hammering on a plowshare, as there was no longer a bell in the village.
