SCHAPEN
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Emsland
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Spelle
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms show a wavy green bend with silver bordure, symbolising the Giegel-Aa andMoosebeeke rivers that run through the municipality. The sheep in the upper half is a canting element (Schaf=sheep). The urn in the lower half symbolises the inhabitation of the area already in prehistoric times.
