The arms were granted on ??-??-1964.
The upper part shows a cogwheel, symbol for the industry and especially the cogwheel factory in the municipality. The base shows a bowl, symbol for the historical pottery manufacturing in the area. Red and silver are the colours of the State of Passau, to which the area belonged until 1803. Blue and silver are the colours of Bayern.
