Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 14, 1954.
The upper part is the cross of the diocese and State of Paderborn, as Warburg was since the 11th century a stronghold of the bishops. The whole district belonged to Paderborn until 1803. The lower part shows a fleur-de-lis taken from the arms of the city of Warburg.
