Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1956.

The curved point symbolizes a valley and thus is a canting element for the second part of the place name, T(h)al=valley. The Tau Cross is the attribute of St. Anthony, who is particularly venerated by farmers; he is also the patron saint of the Dottel parish, to which Wallenthal belongs.
