Origin/meaning
The arms show a sun and a plough, the latter as a symbol of agriculture. The design is taken from the oldest known seal of the town, dating from 1702. Later seals showed different agricultural equipment. The town did not have official arms until 1957 when the above arms were adopted.
In 1977 the arms were abolished and replaced by the arms shown below. Th enew arms included the spa buildings and the sunset over the Vistula river. In 2009 the old arms were restored.
