Origin/meaning
White and blue are the previous and present Infantry colors. The mango tree, the crossed bolo of the Filipino, and the bayonet of the regiment represent service in the Philippine Insurrection. The Regiment's long association with the Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia, is indicated by the classic lamp of knowledge.
The arms were originally approved on 24 May, 1923.
