Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 29, 1962.
Already in the 17th century the village possessed a water-powered hammer-mill. This is symbolised by the two crossed hammers and the water-mill wheel. The silver and black are the colours of the State of Köln, to which the area historically belonged.
