English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The oak leaf symbolises the forests in the area. The cross symbolises the former site of pilgimage in the village to the 14 Helpers. The cross also symbolises the local priest, Paul Schneider, who perished in a concentration camp in the second World War.
The chequered field is derived from the former County Sponheim, to which the village belonged.
