Crest: On a wreath of the colors Or and Gules, a demi-lion rampant Or.
Motto: EN AVANT TOUJOURS (Forward Always).

Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of the shield and crest of the coat of arms.

Origin/meaning

The shield is red with a diagonal band in gold, representative of Field Artillery and honorable service. The crest denotes courage and willingness to defend the country.

The coat of arms was originally approved for the 35th Field Artillery Regiment on 24 September 1932. It was amended to correct the motto on 29 September 1932. It was redesignated for the 517th Field Artillery Battalion on 15 August 1949. It was redesignated for the 35th Artillery Regiment on 4 November 1958. It was redesignated for the 35th Field Artillery Regiment on 1 September 1971. The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 35th Field Artillery Regiment on 1 April 1933. It was redesignated for the 517th Field Artillery Battalion on 15 August 1949. It was redesignated for the 35th Artillery Regiment on 4 November 1958. It was redesignated for the 35th Field Artillery Regiment on 1 September 1971.
