Escudo de prata, três fontes heráldicas de azul e prata, alinhadas em faixa, entre flor-de-lis de azul, em chefe e cacho de uvas de púrpura, folhado de verde, em ponta. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ BORBA - MATRIZ “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 29, 1998.
The silver shield refers to the white marble, which is mined in the parish. The three fountains refer to the many small springs in the area. The grapes refer to the importane of viticulture and the famous wines of Borba.
The fleur-de-lys is the symbol of St. Mary, the local patron saint.
