OSSENHEIM
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Wetteraukreis (until 1975 Friedberg-Hessen)
Incorporated into : 1972 Friedberg
German |
Origin/meaningThe above arms were proposed for Ossenheim in 1956 and are a combination of the chevron derived from the arms of the Lords of Ossenheim, and a canting bull's head (Ochs = ox). The only known seal of the village dates from the 17th century and shows the lion of the Counts of Solms under a laurel crown. The Counts of Solms ruled the village at the time. I don't know whether the arms were ever adopted by the municipality. Contact and SupportPartners: Your logo here ?
