8TH GORKHA RIFLES, INDIAN ARMY

Regimental Headquarters :
Raised : 1824 as The 16th or Sylhet Local Battalion. In 1908 it become the 8th Gurkha Rifles, the spelling of the word Gurkha was later changed to Gorkha.
