Country : Germany State : Nordrhein-Westfalen District (Kreis) : Euskirchen (until 1972 Schleiden) Incorporated into:
|
German | In Blau eine silberne Lilie über einem silbernen Wellenbalken. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1956.
The village has no church, but a chapel devoted to St. Mary. That is symbolised by the fleur-de-lys (the symbol of Mary) and the Marian blue colour.
The base is canting (bach=stream). The blue and silver also refer to the arms of the Counts of Schleiden, who historically ruled the area.
