Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 8, 1973.
Marnerdeich is the name of the dike protecting the city of Marne from the sea. The dike was made in the 17th century and the village Marnerdiek was first mentioned in 1664.
The pale in the arms symbolises the dike, the waves the sea and the red triangles the houses of the village, standing in the golden fields.
