VOGELBACH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Kaiserslautern
Incorporated into : 1969 Bruchmühlbach (1972 Bruchmühlbach-Miesau)
Official blazon
- (de) In Grün zwischen zwei sechsstrahligen goldenen Sternen ein ver zierter silberner Ständer, darauf sitzend ein linksgewendeter goldener Vogel, einen oben rundgekrümmten silbernen Haken im Schnabel haltend.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 7, 1937.
The arms are based on a seal for the village in the State Archive in Speyer, known from 1783. The meaning of the images is not clear, except for the canting bird (Vogel). The bird may hold in his beak the local village sign (used on borderstones for example) and the stars are often seen as a symbol for justice in 18th century seals.
The arms were designed in the 1920s by Otto Hupp, who added the colours in his work from 1928 (see image below). There are no historical colours known.
