Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 8, 1618 and again in January 15, 1970.

Guttaring is one of the parts of Carinthia, which were owned by the Archbishop of Salzburg. The arms depict St. Rupert, one of the patron saints of the archdiocese. Guttaring lies in old mining country (iron ore, mostly), and St. Rupert is also a patron saint of miners.
