Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 27, 1966.
The arms are based on the arms of the Von Ardey family, who were mentioned as lords of Wenholshause in 1288. In 1300 the village was bought by the Counts of Arnsbereg and the colours are those of the county Arnsberg.
