Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1991.

The arms are based on a seal of the town from the 16^th century. The two crossed keys are the symbol of St. Peter. St. Peter, however is not the local patron saint, but probably was the patron saint of a monastery that existed in medieval times in the area. The crescent and star are probably referring to eternity. The colours are probably chosen arbitrarily.
