Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 17, 1952.

The arms show in the left half a bend and a crosier for the Himmelpforten Abbey, founded in 1246, around which the village developed. The other half shows a 'Pfederkramme' (a tool to contrain horses), taken from the arms of the Von Ense family.
