English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 8, 1949.
The arms refer to the Abbey of Grafschaft, to which the area historically belonged. The quarters show the arms of the different families that ruled the area for the abbey; the first and fourth show the arms of the Counts of Dassel and the second and third the arms of the Lords of Fürstenberg.
