Official blazon
German Unter silbernem Schildhaupt, darin ein schwarzes Balkenkreuz, in Blau zwei schräggekreuzte golden-gegriffte silberne Schwerter.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1956.

The swords originate from an old coat of Urft, as can still be seen today on two gravestone plaques in the Steinfeld Abbey Church. The cross is the arms of the [{State of Köln]], to which the area historically belonged.

The colors blue and silver are the Marian colors and recall that the St. Mary was the patroness of the former Premonstratensian Abbey of Steinfeld, to which Urft belonged within the State of Köln.
