The lightning flashes terminating in the wavy area, symbolic of water, allude to the capability to provide for disposal of explosives. The wavy blue and goldbands also refer to overseas service. The Dragon is for service in Southeadt Asia, and the fleur-de-lis indicates service in France and Normandy during World War II. The Tower indicates service in the Rhineland during World War II. The Two Machetes represents the Meritorious Unit Commandations awarded to the Unit for service in the jungles of Vietnam.
