387TH AIR EXPEDITIONARY GROUP, US AIR FORCE
English | Per fess abased Azure and Or, in base seven bends diminished Sable, in chief a tiger affronté attacking Proper, all within a diminished bordure Or. |
Origin/meaning
Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The tiger is one of the largest and fiercest hunters on earth and symbolizes invincibility, might, purity and beauty. The black and yellow stripes on which the tiger stands are a tribute to the 387th Bombardment Group’s “Tiger Tails” tail flash from 1942.
