In Blau auf schwebendem goldenem Dreiberg zwei aufrechte, abgekehrte silberne Beile mit silbernen Griffen. Origin/meaningThe oldest known seal of Bartenstein dates from 1820 and shows a man with a beard (a canting element). Around 1880 the arms were changed. The new arms were based on the arms of the Lords von Bartelstein, who originated from the area. The two axes (Barte) are canting.
