Origin/meaning

The arms date most probably from the 15th century, when Brdów received city rights. The arms simply show the town's initial letter B. The name of the town comes from the verb to wade, because in the past, to get to the settlement, one had to wade through the marshy area surrounding the city. This is reflected by the blue colour of the field.
