Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 7, 1926.

The arms are based on the medieval Lords of Dübendorf. The arms as shown above already appear on the seal of a Lords of Dübendorf dating from 1292. Later images of the arms show the unicorn on a silver or blue background. The original seal showed only two pales, which was later changed into the six fields in the above arms.

The arms as such are a combination of the two overlords of the Lords of Dübendorf, the Lords of Tengen (unicorn) and the Lords of Regensberg.
