Vaakuna muodostuu Hämeen, Karjalan ja Uudenmaan maakunnanvaakunoista siten, että halkoisen ja alaisesti katkoisen kilven oikeanpuoleisessa yläkentässä on Hämeen vaakuna , vasemmanpuoleisessa yläkentässä Karjalan vaakuna ja alaken tässä Uudenmaan vaakuna. Kilven päällä on herttuakunnan kruunu.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 13, 1997.
The arms are a combination of the arms of the former Häme, Kymi and Uusimaa provinces.
