FELDKIRCHEN IN KÄRNTEN (until 1973 Feldkirchen)

State : Kärnten
District : Feldkirchen
Additions : 1973 Glanhofen, Klein Sankt Veit

Feldki.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 10, 1969 and again on August 28, 1973.

The arms probably date from the 16th century, but no formal grant is known. The seals of Feldkirchen have shown the same composition since 1459. The shape of the church has differed widely during the centuries, the present shape is based on the old 16th century seals.

The arms are canting, showing a church (Kirche) on a field (Feld).
