Blue and Gold are the colours associated with the US Navy. The Black Drops symbolises oil/fuel flowing along the saltire, indicating the
fuel hoses used to refuel Ships. The Sea Lion indicates Courage and also Singapore where the Ship will be forward deployed. The Lion holds
a Black Drop further indicating the Oil carried by the USNS Rappahannock. The Waves indicates the River in Virgina for which the Ship is named.
The Two Stars in the Crest represent the Two Ships that have carried the Name the First AF-6 that served in the North Atlantic during World War I
and the present T-AO 204. The Trident and Globe stands for the World Wide deployment in support of Sea Power.
